The main image (the line drawing in black) was silk-screened onto to paper that I had already hand colored with gold paint and black ink. Additionally I hand-painted the colors on the head using gouache.

I will add a photo of the actual print itself soon!

Incidentally, this image is actually taken from series of paintings I have been working on for the last several months, which I hope to show in their completion this summer.

I didn’t get in, but I had fun coming up with these designs….

This is pretty much my favorite design for them so far.

Today’s heat inspired me to lay around in the park and do some catalog jams. Today’s favorite is pictured above.

Pretty lovely day all in all, even when the Italian couple walking toward me decided to plant their love-picnic 5 feet in front of me and passionately make out.  And take pictures of themselves passionately making out.  And then review the digital photos of themselves passionately making out  afterwards.

I’m no prude, nor do i judge them for their romantic vanity. (Maybe  a little).   I think perhaps the transaction provoked a mild envy, but mostly I am just missing Logan right now.

His absence has allowed my social-retardation level to inch up little by little in the past couple weeks.  After the park, I went into Shoe Biz to browse, and noticed they were playing tracks off the new (leaked) Dodos album.  I coyly (so I thought) asked the clerk where they got the tunes, which was met with an awkward pause, which forced me to smile and announce that my bf drummed in the band, in hopes of expressing “hey, we’re all one big happy family here” but was met on his part with, “oh this is streaming off the label site–I wouldn’t steal” and reverberated into all kinds of uncomfortable conversational train-wreckage on my part. Yeesh.  If I keep this up  Logan is gonna want to leave me in a kennel next time he’s goes on tour.

Nick plays guitar in Love is Chemicals, and recently went on tour.  Before they hit the road, he asked me if I could come up with a t-shirt design for the band. Happy to contribute,  I whipped something up really quickly, which summarily got rejected as caca.  I actually still really like my design.  I even added some cheesy color washes in photoshop to imagine how it might look on a t-shirt or sticker:
